Disaster Declaration for the State of New Mexico

FEMA Notice Date: June 20, 2024

On June 20, 2024, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declared that federal disaster aid with individual assistance has been made available to counties in New Mexico to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by the South Fork Fire and Salt Fire on June 17, 2024, and continuing. On June 23, 2024, an additional county was granted individual assistance and “flooding” was added to the disaster type. On July 11, two additional counties were granted individual assistance. On August 20, 2024, the incident end date was established as 8/20/2024.
